SCC Member’s meeting highlights
Kevin Noakes commented on SPED membership renewal as an issue of international proportion. There are about 900 certified PPD SPED members internationally of which approximately 75% have not renewed their SPED membership/ Certification –a large portion are former SPED Calgary Chapter members. At the October 25th “SPED BOARD of Directors” meeting in Houston, the SPED Directors decided members who don’t renew their membership or fail to provide notice of their required annual continuing education, professional development unit (PDUs) hours (5) for certification continuance will lose their certification standing. SPED will no longer acknowledge former members certification information to inquiries.
SPED will begin issuing cards with a membership expiry date for each member on it. These are being prepared for all SPED members in order to remind us of SPED’s renewal requirement, and for entry to SPED sponsored events where membership is to be acknowledged. More details to come in November.

Only event photos for the time being. Does anybody [cough] Herman [cough] want to do a write-up? As usual, clicking on a photo will open a higher resolution version (possibly). This time ‘The Kevin and Paul Show’ had big help in the form of Jacques De Fortier, one of our new Executives-at-Large. Guess which SPED Calgary guy he might be. Also, I’ve learned a good lesson: my big camera is much better, next time I’ll use it instead of this
piece of crap fine piece of Canon machinery. At first glance, it looks to me like the SAIT fast track PPD program has hatched another fine batch. You know, back in my day, we didn’t have all this new-fangled education and technology. We had to live in a cardboard box, and then
In this brief story about plastic models and how they relate to piping design, I hope to piece together (pun unintended) some of the bits of
plasticinformation that I can find regarding the subject and show how “3D design” (or should I say, interpretation of 3D design) in those days worked.
As a young man, I built scale plastic models like many others. [insert personal story here]
Many people have contributed to this story, and they will be quoted and credited as is appropriate. In some cases, information has been collected but has no attribution. For these, I’d really like to find out the
